Police warn parents about e-bike safety
Saturday’s crash comes hours after Gilbert police posted a safety video on Facebook warning parents about e-bike purchases for Christmas.
“Bikes can be a great Christmas idea, and I’m not here to be the grinch. We want to help make you an informed decision as you consider that purchase this Christmas,” Officer Travis Sheppard said in the video.
Shepard warned parents to buy bikes appropriate for their child’s age and skill level and to make sure children wear helmets at all times.
